How Do I Start A Morning Routine With My Toddler?
Creating a morning routine for your toddler can create a sense of stability and set a positive tone for the day.
Start by establishing a consistent wake window time each morning, that doesn’t mean your toddler needs to be up at that same time each day, but more of a general wake window. EX: 6:30 to 7:30. This will be dependent on your toddler’s bedtime, try to make sure they are getting enough sleep according to their age.
Next, set aside time to get ready for the day. This can include brushing teeth, getting dressed, eating breakfast, and even doing morning activities. It’s best to try to keep the order of the routine consistent, this allows for flexibility with the time when things get off to a later start.
Consistency is key, always try to maintain the order of the routine if possible, and adjust as needed to suit your child’s needs for the morning.
What Is The Best Morning Routine For Toddlers?
The best morning routine for toddlers is one that offers consistency, structure, some predictability, and a good mix of morning activities to start the day on a good foot.
Ideally, a morning routine that starts the same each day is key, whether that’s opening the blinds and windows, singing a good morning song, or having a few minutes of snuggles. Try to create some consistency.
Create a simple, and gentle wake-up routine, including simple tasks like brushing their teeth, washing their face, getting dressed, and making breakfast together.
